I don’t know if anyone will think this is as cool as I do but my parents went to a decent amount of concerts in the late 60’s and all through the 70’s, and a handful of Grateful Dead shows were among them. I’ve been pestering them and their old college pals to try and search the depths of their fried seventies memories for info on what shows they attended. Because the Dead encouraged people to tape their shows, virtually every set they ever played from the early 70’s (maybe even the late 60’s) all the way up to the end is somewhere online to hear. I knew if I could match up a few details, I could find the shows they were at, which seemed like an interesting idea to me. Anyway, this is our first successful match.
@head2wallrecords has 3 or 4 copies of the tour-only Passing Key cassette in their webstore. These are the literal last copies. Hit them up (and soon) if you want one. They also have a few copies of my zine in stock. www.head2wallrecords.bigcartel.com

This post has gotten a ton of notes which rules. And while 99% of you seem to get it, there are a few butthurt reblogs that I figured I’d address.
This is a silly, tongue-in-cheek post, directed specifically at straight dudes, that is supposed to be an antithesis to the norm (which often rejects some of these things). I see men on here frequently submitting rude anon messages and reblogging or commenting on posts made by women that I follow with sentiments along the lines of “you’re so pretty but you ruined yourself with those tattoos” or “you’d be gorgeous if you lost a few pounds”. These are hurtful things that don’t represent the way that I and many other men feel. I made this post as a way of putting another point of view out into the cosmos. It’s not in any way me trying to be a “white knight” or me saying that not liking these things is wrong.

A few sentences I put together in response to a post someone made about marketing your band. I was happy with my quickly put together thought on it so I’m logging it here for myself:
Just play and enjoy the outlet. If your shit’s good and you have a vibe or aesthetic that people relate to then you won’t have to “market” anything. People, shows, labels, etc will fall into place if they’re meant to. Put your tunes out there and don’t expect anything in return, ever. Put your energy into making something interesting that you would want to listen to. The moment you start calculating your decisions based on others’ reactions, rather than what YOU want to do, is the moment you’ve fallen off track in my opinion.
The merch leftovers from tour are now up in the @anthemsoftheundesirable webstore. There were no cassettes or record release LP’s left but we did have a small handful of shirts when we got back. I believe there is only one XL left and the numbers are similarly small for the rest of the sizes, just FYI. Designed by @ingivingup. #moutheater #passingkey #passingkeytour #knrfs #grunge #noiserock #sludge
YL, L, XL, and XXL are all SOLD OUT. There are a very small amount of S and M left for anyone looking.
After it was brought to my attention, I finally fixed the “/tagged/me” link in my description. So if you’re looking for sweaty, shirtless, bearded pictures of me then you know where to go now. WHAT A RELIEF, RIGHT???
